Family and Friends!

I want to begin by saying THANK YOU to all who supported me prayerfully and/or financially to go to Swazi! Words do not describe how incredibly thankful I am.

As many of you know I went to Swaziland, Africa for a month this past summer came back and am currently attending college at UT Chattanooga. I couldn't ask for anything better: great friends and core group, job as an after school counselor at YMCA, volunteer at Tennessee Baptist Children's Home, school is well, family is great, etc. In essence I am plugged in and settled. Then Jesus asked me if I would lay it all down for Him; to lose everything in order to gain Him. He asked me if I would trust Him and give Him all of my heart and all of my life. SO, long story short, here I am jumping in and just trusting Jesus with the rest.

With that said, I have the privilege of going on a 9 Month mission trip called Passport Immersion with AIM (adventures in missions). I will leave in September of 2013 and return May of 2014. I will spend 3 months in a country in Central America, 3 in S.E Asia, and the final 3 month leg in Africa. My team and I will do various things such as teach English, work with special needs children, visit villages, build relationships with women in bars, teach and equip women in sex trades to help them leave prostitution for good, connect with those in displaced camps, pray for the sick in hospitals, play with kids, teach Bible studies, and go hut-to-hut sharing the love of Christ in seemingly hopeless places.

In order to do this I need to raise $11,900, not including all the meds and necessary needs in order to live out of a backpack for 9 months. I cannot do this alone and I need your help. He will provide and always has. I pray you consider being a part of that providence-whether that's actually giving, praying, encouraging and cheering me on, or pointing me in the direction towards unique ways to fundraise.

Because it is so expensive, I will be transferring to MTSU for this upcoming Spring semester and attend a summer semester as well in order to save money and get ahead in school.

If 150 people give $25 and 100 people give $50 I will have $8750 which is more than half of the funds necessary.  Please feel free to give as you are led…these are just some numbers to put it into perspective. I have enclosed a response card and pre-addressed envelope, inviting you to share in this journey of faith. Please make checks payable to Adventures In Missions and return the response card with your donation to Adventures In Missions, PO Box 534470, Atlanta, GA, 30353-4470. The response card will provide AIM with the information necessary to send you a receipt for your donation. If you would prefer to make an online donation you may do so by going to the website (adventures.org) and clicking donations or going straight to my blog. All donations are tax deductible.  Please pray alongside me as this is a huge leap of faith.

More of Jesus, less of me.

"Enlarge the place of your tent, and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out; do not hold back; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes. For you will spread abroad to the right and to the left, and your offspring will possess the nations and will people the desolate cities.” Isaiah 54:2-3
